University of Arkansas to construct new student success centre

Published: 18-Jan-2013

University of Arkansas in the US will construct a new Student-Athlete Success Center, which will be designed by Heery International along with local architect WDD.

To be located at the university’s Fayetteville campus, the new 50,000 square feet centre will be a freestanding Student-Athlete Success Center.

Taking care of the needs of the students, the new facility will feature a dining hall, kitchen, computer laboratory, tutoring rooms, study rooms, and laboratories for math, science and language. Apart from that the building will also feature an auditorium/multi-purpose space and Razorback staff offices.

Combining student athletic dining hall and academic enhancement centre, the Student-Athlete Success Center will support 460 student athletes by taking care of their academic, nutritional, personal and professional development. In addition to that the new centre will also house the Razorback Leadership Academy, which supports athletes in their community outreach and campus leadership roles.

The new building is being designed to achieve LEED Silver or Green Globes sustainability certification.
