ISG to construct new block at Llanishen High School in Cardiff

Published: 14-Jan-2013

UK-based ISG Plc has received a £3.1 million ($4.97 million) project to construct a new Design & Technology teaching block at Llanishen High School in Cardiff, which forms a part of the new regional public sector framework agreement.

The new Design & Technology building will be a two-storied, steel frame building, which will provide additional modern teaching accommodation to the school. The project also includes the full fit out of the new facility, which incorporates food preparation classrooms on the first floor and carpentry workshops at ground floor level.

To provide a coordinated design as well as to complement the surrounding buildings, the teaching blocks will feature facing brickwork and ribbon windows to its façade with an insulated metal cladding system forming the roof.

Linked into the adjoining science block, the building will remain occupied throughout the duration of the project. The scheme is scheduled for completion ahead of the start of the new academic year in September 2013.
