Published: 30-Jan-2012
The Franklin County school board has given its green light to the plans of a new core building at the Franklin County High School in Carnesville, Georgia, US.
The new core building will encompass two floors. The second level of the facility will house a media centre adorned in glass and tall ceilings. The building will also feature a common space with a cafeteria having a seat capacity of almost 1100.
The core building will comprise a new science lab which has been designed by the teachers. The lab will sport a classroom space, along with a lab area in its rear. The classrooms will increase in size post upgrades with every new classroom measuring 750 square feet.
The main building of the campus will be substituted following the makeover. The project will be financed through special local option sales tax for education funds. Construction is set to commence by mid-2012 and be completed in a period of about two years.
